Placenta EncapsulatioN

The placenta is rich in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that may aid in postpartum recovery and lactation. Many people who consume placenta capsules report increased energy, increased milk supply, decreased afterbirth pains, faster healing, and an overall sense of well-being.

Encapsulation - After processing your placenta with a light steam and a slow dehydration according to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Method, it is then ground into a fine powder. This powder is placed into small gel capsules. Each placenta is a different size and yields a different amount of pills, but on average you receive 100-200 pills. Dosage guidelines are outlined in regards to your individual pregnancy and birthing history.

Postpartum Herbal Blend Add-On - Before encapsulating your placenta, you have the option of having a custom blend of postpartum supportive herbs added to accentuate your placenta capsules and aid in postpartum healing. This will be based on your postpartum concerns and intake information, but usually includes herbs such as rose hips, dandelion, nettle, oatstraw, lavender, red raspberry leaf, alfalfa, fennel seeds, and/or turmeric.

Tincture - Some people desire to use their placenta preparations when their menstrual cycle returns. A small portion of the placenta is set aside and preserved in an alcohol base tincture. This preserves the placenta for longer term storage.

Umbilical Cord Keepsake - The umbilical cord is set in a simple spiral or heart shape and dehydrated. It is kept in a small muslin bag.

Tree of Life Placenta Print Keepsake - The placenta is arranged and stamped onto canvas paper for a beautiful piece of art to honor the life-giving organ your body made. The print can be made with the placenta's natural blood or with food grade dye. Though most placentas have a rounded shape, some do not, and no two placentas are the same. Your placenta may have a marginal cord insertion, an accessory lobe, or even be shaped like a heart. When making your print, I strive to capture your placenta in a way that brings out its uniqueness and captures its story.  However, please understand that due to the differences and uniqueness of each placenta, sometimes the quality and clarity of the print is out of my control.
